Lick & Stick™ SlowMat

Dinner's gone in nine seconds. The SlowMat spreads every meal across four textured zones and suctions flat to the floor — so he has to slow down instead of inhaling it.

  • Four zones slow every meal down
  • Suction base — he can't flip it
  • Spinning ball stops liquid gulping
  • Soft silicone — bends, won't crack
  • Non-porous — no stains or smells
  • Dishwasher safe, top rack

He used to finish dinner in about ten seconds and bring half of it back up twenty minutes later. Took him nearly four minutes on this the first night. Haven't had to clean up once since.

Two dogs. One inhales his and goes straight for his sister's. Now he's still working on his while she finishes in peace. No more standing between them at dinner.

We've had him eight months and he still panics at dinner. First thing that's slowed him down without stressing him out. He actually seems calmer when he's done.

Thought thirty-odd dollars was a lot for a mat, but he'd been throwing up after meals for months so I gave it a go. Worth it. Only thing is the suction won't hold on our rug, so it lives on the tiles now. Fine once we worked that out.

Dinner that actually takes a while

Four textured zones spread the meal across the mat, so every mouthful has to be worked out instead of scooped up. He slows down on his own — no standing over him, no taking the bowl away halfway through.

He can't flip what he can't move

Silicone suction cups run across the entire underside. Push it, shove it, paw at it — it stays flat on the floor. The two things dogs do to beat a slow feeder simply aren't available here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our products, shipping, returns, and more.

How do I clean it? +

Top rack of the dishwasher, or warm soapy water and a rub with your fingers. The silicone is soft enough that food lifts straight out of the grooves instead of drying into them, and it's a single piece with no seams or gaps for anything to get trapped in. To lift it off the floor, peel up one corner rather than pulling from the middle.

Can I freeze it? +

Yes, and it's the best trick this thing has. Spread wet food, yoghurt or broth through the zones, freeze it for a few hours, then hand it over. A frozen mat can stretch a five-minute meal into twenty or more. Handy on hot days, or when you need him occupied while you're getting out the door.

What's it made of, and is it safe? +

One piece of food-grade silicone. No hard plastic, no BPA, nothing glued on that can work loose. Silicone flexes instead of shattering, so it won't crack or splinter the way a hard plastic bowl can. It's a feeding mat rather than a chew toy though, so supervise as you would with any bowl and replace it if it ever gets properly chewed up.
